🌍 Investing in Innovation: COWLHA Embraces Artificial Intelligence for Strategic Impact

At the Coalition of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (COWLHA), we believe that investing in our people is investing in our mission. As part of our commitment to continuous learning and organizational growth, we recently supported our Secretariat’s Programme Officer, Wishes Mumba, to participate in the Empower AI training workshop—an intensive learning experience focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Leadership, and Entrepreneurship.

Hosted by Status with generous support from IREX and the United States Embassy in Malawi, the workshop explored key themes that align directly with COWLHA’s strategic pillars:

  • Economic Empowerment
  • Organizational Capacity Development
  • Research, Communication, and Advocacy

💡 Why AI Matters to COWLHA

As HIV programming faces increasing funding constraints, COWLHA recognizes the urgent need to adapt, innovate, and optimize our operations. Embracing technologies like AI enables us to:

  • Strengthen data-driven decision-making
  • Enhance monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems
  • Improve communication and storytelling for advocacy
  • Explore new models of sustainability and impact

We view AI not as a threat but as a powerful tool to amplify our work—especially in resource-limited settings. By integrating ethical leadership and entrepreneurial thinking into our approach, we are building a resilient, inclusive, and tech-savvy organization.

👏 Celebrating Leadership and Learning

We are proud of Wishes Mumba for representing COWLHA at this forward-thinking workshop. The insights gained will be instrumental in shaping our programs, strengthening our systems, and deepening our impact.

đŸ€ Join Us on the Journey

As we continue to evolve and innovate, we invite our partners, donors, and community members to walk this journey with us. Together, we can harness the power of technology to drive equity, empowerment, and lasting change for women living with HIV and AIDS in Malawi and beyond.
